The World’s Best Basketball Competitions

Basketball competitions give players a chance to showcase their expertise in the game. They play with a passion not only to show people their abilities but also to try and win titles for the team and even personal awards. These tournaments exhibit a high level of competitiveness. The quality there is also top class. Some of the best b-ball competitions include the following.

FIBA World Cup

This is an international basketball competition where some of the best national teams come to compete for the ultimate prize. It was founded in 1950, and it involves 32 teams which are members of FIBA. The most recent winner was Spain with the USA having the most titles.

Summer Olympics

This is also an international basketball event where countries come to compete against each other. It is also governed by FIBA. Since it began, there have been 18 editions with the USA getting the title 15 times.

NBA

Every basketball enthusiast knows about the popular league in the United States referred to as the National Basketball Association League. It accommodates 30 teams with one from Canada and the rest from the United States. It began in 1946 it has the best basketball talents in the world.

Euro League

From the name, you can tell that this league is for European basketball teams. The teams here play their matches in the midweek since the teams have duties to perform in their home leagues over the weekend. It hosts 16 teams, and it runs from October to April. The current champions are CSKA Moscow.

Spain’s Liga ACB

The league was started in 1957 in Spain, and there are two main dominant teams which are FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The two teams have won 51 titles out of the possible 60. It starts in October and ends in May. With 17 participating teams, Real Madrid are the reigning champions.
